working on my fall line

On and off for the last few months, I've been living in my mom's attic in Toronto, trying to get work as a painter/wardrobe assistant in the film industry. The work has been sporadic at best, so I've had a lot of time to knit up a storm.

I've been working on some new cowl designs....

and headbands...

and hats (although they don't look very much like hats when they're not on)...

This tote bag has been a work in progress for some time now...

And today's project was making a bunch of bird bodies...

My next project will be knitting some mini stuffed dogs from the book my mom bought for me yesterday, Knit Your Own Dog!

the birds- hand needle felted ornaments

These bird ornaments, each based on a real species of North American bird, are all hand needle-felted by me. I've been adding copper-plated wire feet, which can wrap onto a branch or hook over a shelf ledge.

 barn owl (Tyto alba)...

black capped chickadee (Poecile africapilla)...

baby northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis)...

western sandpiper (Calidris mauri)...

North American robin (Turdus migratorius)...

red- winged blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus)...

common seagull (Larus canus)...

the whole family...
 22- each

The plan today is to make more new species!
