It's Spring!!

And I'm so excited to plan my garden! I cracked out my handy reference guide: "The Kitchen Garden: a complete practical guide to planting, cultivating, and harvesting fruit and vegetables" by Alan Buckingham. This book is so great- the front half has things to harvest and jobs to do organized by month, and the back half is a growing guide organized by crop.

A Study in Light

New Year, New Wool Stash Organization

Now that the holiday knit mania has died down a bit (it was by far my craziest season yet!) and now that I'm out of the cast and walking (woohooooo!), I finally had time to tidy my studio and re-organize my wool stash.

Now there's only one layer of yarn on each shelf, so I can open the cupboard doors, see everything at once and get inspired. All the balls that were coming loose have been re-wound, and I took out the books and embroidery hoops so now it's all wool all the time in here. And I most excited about the middle shelf (which is the yarn for this year's line) that is now organized by colour!

 So many good ones, and I had to get a new cast so I'm starting from scratch again.

My Toronto Garden

I needed a little hint of summer on this chilly fall day! Here are some glimpses of my garden this year.

 Bush beans, onions, carrots, bok choy, celery, curly endive, red cabbage, cauliflower...
